Recreate Life Counseling offers individualized intensive outpatient treatment and partial hospitalization programs designed to meet the needs of each client. We believe that by helping our clients recreate themselves, they are more likely to achieve and stay in recovery. As stated by the Center for Disease Control, or CDC, 3 million children between the ages of 12 and 17 were identified as having ADHD (attention deficit hyperactive disorder) in 2016. The levels of diagnosis have grown dramatically over time. Why are prescription stimulants addictive? As soon as an individual chooses Adderall or something, two chemicals within the mind -- are triggered. Dopamine is referred to as a"feel-good" chemical, and it is directly linked to the reward center in the brain. Norepinephrine affects blood flow pressure and heartbeat. The combo of these two compounds makes the user experience a slight"rush." This is when the medication can be used as prescribed, or at very small doses. |
